Octopus is fond of Squid, Squid wants to avoid Octopus
Poster created for and exhibited at “Hokusai Manga Inspiration Exhibition” (2014). I made a woodblock print inspired by the octopus drawn by Hokusai Katsushika. Numbers were added to make sure that the counting of octopus and squid legs are not mistaken. I also had some fun playing by mixing my name Kasai with Hokusai, by replacing the Kanji “Sai” of Kasai with “Sai” of Hokusai, and designed it into a signature.
